Through the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), you will immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker. The program is designed for individuals who are selected to immigrate to Canada due to their skills and work experience.

A Canadian Immigration (permanent resident) visa will be issued to successful candidates from the Skilled Worker Immigration programs, allowing them to come with their families to Canada.
To qualify to apply for this program. you must:
- Have a job offer; or
- Be qualified to work in Canada; or
- Be able to prove that you have adequate funds to support yourself and your family members or dependents once you arrive in Canada;
and have at least one (1) year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) skilled work experience; meet minimum standards of English or French in Canada; have a post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma; Intend to live outside the Quebec’s province.
What kind of work experience do you need to be an experienced worker?
Basically, your work experience must fall under either the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or Skill Level B.You should pay for your work experience, full-time or the equivalent number of part-time hours. Full-time is at least 30 hours a week. Over the last ten years, you must have had this work experience.
However, if you have a permanent job offer, these limits may not apply.
The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Point System
In order to apply as a Federal Skilled Worker Program, you must receive at least 67 points. You get different points based on:- your age;
- your education;
- your work experience;
- your English and/or French language skills;
- if you have a job offer or a job in Canada;
- and your adaptability.
